Dark Elf Lord on Dragon 2

Okay, this is going to be the second of my Todd McFarlane conversions.  This dragon will be a lot more difficult, but I think I can make it work. Due to the really wide stance he has, I actually have to break off the legs (luckily they break in segments) and cut them, then reshape them and add greenstuff.  I popped out one of the wings (couldn't get the second one off) to reposition it to make a little more room for the lord, which also means greenstuffing the crap out of that joint.  The arms and head are the only appendages I can leave alone besides gluing them in place!  The lord will be  a Cold One Knight, using Corsair arms and a nice giant axe from the Reaper Mini range.  I ripped off the little guy sitting on his back and that's where the lord will go.  I'll update as I go along!

Here is how the dragon starts:

Here is the first bit of reconstruction:

As you can see, I popped the legs off of the dragon.  I was able to get the right leg completely off, but only the lower half of the left off so far.  I repositioned the top half of the right leg so it was a little bit straighter down.  It still needs a little bit of trimming to smooth out the bump you can see where the greenstuff meets the plastic.  I then opened up the bottom half at the joint using my handy-dandy Dremel saw blade (way too thick for an Exacto).  I then greenstuffed the open area to fill the leg back in.

I plan on doing the same with the left leg.  I repositioned the right wing a little bit and was going to do the same to the left, but the damn thing wouldn't come off so I just opened up the joint a little an greenstuffed it.  This is to give the rider a little more headroom.  The arms and head are glued into place. As you can also see, I ripped the rider off that originally came on.  That's where my lord will sit.

I did put a piece of the original seat back in because I like the skull-face on it, and I'm going to attach a spike to that which the chains will be hooked over. The rider is wielding an axe double-handed, so he needs somewhere to safely stow the chain!

I have re-attached the legs and have finished green-stuffing them.  I've also re-attached the dragon to the base, now I just have to trim the base and add a little more basing under his feet.  You can't really see how much the distance has changed between the feet, but it is actually quite a bit.  You can see that, with the exception of the toes/claws, they hover a little off the actual ground.  That part should be easy though.  Next up - repainting all the green stuff areas and fixing where the rider sits!

Dark Elf Lord on Dragon

Here it is, the first of 2 of my Todd McFarlane dragons that I'm converting to be my Dark Elf Lords on Dragons (though I'm thinking maybe one should hold a Sorceress!).  The rider is a DE Manticore rider body, corsair arms, and a Eldar Storm Guardian head.  And a sword from one of the Reaper Mini collections.  My goal is to paint all of my Cold One Knights to have a similar color for the bodies of the cold ones as that of the dragon.
